TASK – TO IMPROVE GENDER EQUALITY "International Women's Day" was established at the Second International Conference of Socialist Women March 8 1910 in Copenhagen, at the initiative of Clara Zetkin, in that time the leader of women's labor movement. The day is celebrated to commemorate the demonstration of American workers in Chicago 1909 New York and the march of more than 15,000 women a year earlier, who asked for shorter working hours, better pay and voting rights. Women's Day was first celebrated 1911 in Austria, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland, and on that day in these countries more than one million women and men attended rallies where it was required that women should vote in elections, to enable them to hold public office posts, have the right to work and professional education.
