On the occasion of celebration of International Women's Day March 8 Palilula Municipality held occasional meeting with the president PhD Igor Novakovic and head of administration Bojan Ilic, who hosted a reception for women employed by this local government municipal government organization. President of the Assembly Milan Djurdjevic and Ivan Jovanović Secretary of the Assembly gathered female councilors and presidents of activity forms of Palilula Assembly. After bouquets of flowers, it was discussed about the current issues of women in society and opportunities to advance gender equality.

"International Women's Day" was established at the Second International Conference of Socialist Women March 8 1910 in Copenhagen, at the initiative of Clara Zetkin, in that time the leader of women's labor movement. The day is celebrated to commemorate the demonstration of American workers in Chicago 1909 New York and the march of more than 15,000 women a year earlier, who asked for shorter working hours, better pay and voting rights. Women's Day was first celebrated 1911 in Austria, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland, and on that day in these countries more than one million women and men attended rallies where it was required that women should vote in elections, to enable them to hold public office posts, have the right to work and professional education. In Serbia, began March 8 began with celebrations in marks the 1914.
